The Bakery Logistics Supervisor oversees all non-production functions in partnership with the Bakery Operations Manager. This includes, but is not limited to, food safety and sanitation, purchasing, logistics, inventory management, customer service, and compliance with company policies as well as local and government regulations. Additionally, the Bakery Logistics Supervisor supports the bakery leadership team on initiatives involving food safety, team member safety, new deployments, and operational initiatives.

Summary of Responsibilities
  • Maintains safety, sanitation, and cleanliness standards (Local, State, and Federal) of the entire premise, including sharing responsibility for local and federal food inspections along with Department of Transportation guidelines
  • With support from the Bakery Operations Manager, assists in all non-production staffing in the bakery, including ensuring adequate staffing, onboarding, managing, developing, and growing all driver, sanitation, receiving, and maintenance team members
  • With the Bakery Operations Manager, oversees all purchasing, receiving, and inventory management of raw materials and other items necessary to run the bakery
  • Leads weekly inventory counting and assists in troubleshooting variances with the bakery leadership team
  • In partnership with the Bakery Operations Manager, assists with production and operational planning, including effectively and efficiently managing labor expenses and waste
  • Oversees logistics to and from cafes, maintains strong and effective relationships with all cafe managers, and provides prompt and regular customer service via phone, email, and in person
  • Ensures all vehicles are properly maintained and operate in compliance with state laws
  • Resolves issues raised by cafe management in a timely manner
  • In partnership with the Bakery Facilities & Equipment Technician and Facilities team, oversees all bakery repair and maintenance issues
  • Promotes, models, and maintains company culture and ensures all company policies are adhered to
  • Actively participates in management meetings to ensure effective and accurate communication of all relevant product and operational information
  • Maintains understanding of and follows crisis management procedures
  • Other duties as assigned
Working Conditions / Essential Functions
  • Able to stand for 8 hours per shift/day, 5 days a week
  • Able to lift, carry, and push 50 lbs regularly
  • Able to grasp and reach overhead
  • Ability to work flexible hours and days, including holidays and weekends
Qualifications & Experience
Required:
  • Licensed and able to drive delivery trucks as needed
  • Fluency in English, written and spoken
Preferred:
  • 2+ years experience in a medium- to large-scale foodservice setting
  • Experience leading a driving, receiving, and/or sanitation team
  • Understanding and effective management of regulatory standards (e.g., OSHA, FDA inspections, Health Department, EPA, City and County Inspectors)
  • Familiarity with Good Manufacturing Practices
  • Experience implementing and maintaining quality systems and programs
  • Experience building and mentoring high-performing teams
  • Fluency in Spanish (written and spoken) highly preferred
