Distribution & Warehouse Operations Manager Location: Rochester, NY Employment Type: Full-Time | Direct Hire Summary: Nesco Resource is seeking a Distribution & Warehouse Operations Manager to lead warehouse and logistics operations in Rochester, NY. This role is responsible for overseeing end-to-end distribution, including receiving, inventory control, shipping, and transportation to distribution centers and customers. The ideal candidate brings strong leadership, logistics expertise, and a proven ability to drive efficiency, accuracy, and continuous improvement across warehouse operations. Key Responsibilities: Lead end-to-end warehouse operations including receiving, storage, picking, packing, and shipping across multiple sites Manage outbound transportation to distribution centers and direct-ship customers Build, lead, and develop high-performing warehouse teams Drive inventory accuracy through cycle counting and root cause analysis Optimize warehouse layout, slotting, and material flow for efficiency and safety Oversee carrier performance, transportation planning, and freight cost management Partner cross-functionally with production, planning, quality, customer service, and finance teams Ensure compliance with safety standards (OSHA), transportation regulations (DOT/FMCSA), and company policies Lead continuous improvement initiatives (Lean, 5S, Kaizen) Manage budgets, labor planning, and operational costs Support peak operations planning and business continuity strategies Qualifications: High School Diploma or GED required 7-10+ years of experience in warehousing, distribution, or logistics Strong leadership experience managing teams and operations Experience with multi-site warehouse operations preferred ERP/WMS/TMS experience required (SAP preferred) Knowledge of OSHA, DOT/FMCSA, and logistics compliance standards Strong problem-solving, organizational, and communication skills Bachelor's degree preferred Work Environment & Physical Requirements: Combination of office, warehouse, and manufacturing environments Exposure to chemicals, industrial equipment, and active production areas Ability to lift up to 50 lbs as needed Frequent standing, walking, and movement throughout facilities Occasional forklift operation Pay Rate: $102,000 - $133,000/Year (Based On Exp.)
