How You Will Make an Impact

As Procurement/Sourcing Specialist III, you will execute sourcing projects and supplier/material onboarding activities that support new and existing client programs. You will coordinate site-side sourcing actions to ensure compliant supplier setup, continuity of supply, and timely transition of approved sources into routine buying channels.

What You Will Do

  • Execute sourcing activities for new programs, tech transfers, process changes, PPQ/commercial readiness, change control, and supply risk events; translate site requirements into prioritized sourcing and onboarding actions.
  • Execute RFQs and supplier comparisons for direct materials, single-use consumables, services, and other site requirements; prepare bid tabulations and support sourcing recommendations.
  • Analyze supplier pricing, lead times, MOQs, and commercial terms to support source selection, continuity planning, and readiness timelines.
  • Coordinate new supplier onboarding and new material setup with Procurement, Quality, Planning, Manufacturing, Program Management, and other business stakeholders to ensure compliant implementation.
  • Support qualification and implementation of alternate suppliers and alternate materials to strengthen continuity planning and shortage recovery readiness.
  • Maintain sourcing action trackers tied to new programs, tech transfer, change control, PPQ/commercial readiness, and supply recovery activities; drive timely follow-up to closure.
  • Partner with buyers, planners, and end users to resolve shortages, expedite critical requirements, and support supplier recovery plans.
  • Monitor supplier responsiveness, delivery performance, and issue follow-up for assigned sourcing projects; escalate risks, delays, and unresolved actions as needed.
  • Maintain spend, KPI, contract reference, and risk-reporting data to support site visibility, decision-making, and sourcing governance.
  • Ensure smooth handoff of stabilized suppliers and materials to the buying team for routine execution and identify opportunities to improve sourcing cycle time and onboarding efficiency.

How You Will Get Here

Education

  • Bachelor's degree in supply chain, business, life sciences, engineering, or a related field preferred.
  • Equivalent combination of education, training, and relevant procurement/sourcing or supply chain experience acceptable.
  • Professional certification such as CPSM, CPM, or APICS/ASCM is a plus.

Experience

  • Minimum of 4 years of relevant sourcing, procurement, supply chain, planning, manufacturing support, or supplier management experience.
  • Experience in biopharma, biotech, CDMO, or other regulated manufacturing environment preferred.
  • Experience supporting RFQs, supplier comparisons, supplier/material onboarding, material setup, or continuity planning activities preferred.
  • Experience supporting new client programs, tech transfers, change control, PPQ/commercial readiness, or shortage recovery initiatives preferred.

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities

  • Strong analytical and organizational skills, with ability to manage multiple open actions across several client programs and priorities.
  • Strong commercial analysis capability, including RFQ execution, bid tabulation, lead-time/MOQ analysis, and supplier comparison.
  • Strong cross-functional coordination and stakeholder management skills; able to work effectively with Procurement, Quality, Planning, Manufacturing, Program Management, and end users.
  • Working knowledge of supplier onboarding, material setup, alternate-source qualification, change control, and continuity/risk management processes in a regulated environment.
  • Strong ERP and eSourcing discipline with excellent Excel and reporting capability; comfortable maintaining KPI, spend, contract reference, and risk data.
  • Strong communication, follow-up, and prioritization skills; able to drive timely closure of sourcing actions in a fast-paced environment.
  • Knowledge of GMP/cGMP expectations and compliant supplier qualification/onboarding practices preferred.

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to work on-site and move between office, warehouse, laboratory, and manufacturing areas as needed to support site priorities.
  • Ability to sit or stand for extended periods and use standard office equipment and computer systems.
  • Occasional lifting of files, samples, or materials up to 15 lbs and use of required PPE when entering operational areas.
