Inventory Control Specialist

Inventory Control Specialist- Direct Hire
Location : San Rafael, CA
Schedule : M-F, 7am-3:30pm or 8am-4:30pm
Compensation: $70,700 $76,900 annually

We are seeking an experienced Inventory Control Specialist for a direct hire opportunity with a growing operations team in San Rafael. This role is best suited for candidates with strong inventory control and inventory analysis experience within a manufacturing environment.

Please note : this is not a shipping or distribution-focused role. We are specifically seeking candidates with hands-on experience in inventory reconciliation, variance reporting, SOP development, auditing processes, and staff training related to inventory control functions.

What Youll Be Doing

• Perform inventory reconciliation and investigate inventory discrepancies
• Analyze cycle count results, variance reports, and inventory trends
• Conduct regular inventory audits and identify process improvement opportunities
• Create, update, and maintain SOPs and work instructions
• Train staff on inventory control procedures and process updates
• Maintain accurate inventory transactions within ERP/WMS systems
• Monitor inventory movements and support inventory accuracy initiatives
• Partner cross-functionally with Warehouse, Quality, Accounting, and Operations teams
• Support FIFO compliance and inventory status management
• Create and maintain item records and BOMs within ERP systems
• Assist with month-end reporting and annual physical inventories

Skills and Requirements

• 35 years of inventory control experience in a manufacturing environment
• Strong background in:
  • Inventory reconciliation
  • Variance reporting and analysis
  • Cycle count programs
  • Inventory audits
  • SOP creation and process documentation
  • Staff training and process improvement
• Experience using ERP/WMS systems such as NetSuite, SAP, or similar
• Intermediate to advanced Excel or Google Sheets skills
• Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving abilities
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to work cross-functionally
• Bilingual Spanish is a plus
