Shipping Clerk Turners Falls, MA Apply Shipping Clerk Pay: \$20.00 - \$24.00 per hour Job description: Overview Our Client is seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Shipping Clerk to join their logistics and warehouse operations team. The Shipping Clerk will be responsible for coordinating the accurate and timely shipment of products, ensuring that all orders are prepared, packed, and dispatched efficiently. This role plays a vital part in maintaining smooth warehouse distribution processes, supporting order fulfillment, and upholding high standards of accuracy and safety. The ideal candidate will bring strong organizational skills, experience with warehouse management systems, and a proactive approach to shipping and receiving tasks. Duties Prepare shipping documentation, labels, and packaging materials to ensure accurate order fulfillment. Operate forklifts, reach trucks, pallet jacks, and RF scanners to load, unload, and move stock within the warehouse safely. Manage order picking and packing processes using warehouse management systems (WMS) and AS400 platforms to ensure correct items are shipped. Verify inventory levels through stock checks and update records in the warehouse management system. Coordinate with carriers for scheduled pickups and deliveries while ensuring compliance with safety procedures. Assist with inventory stocking, replenishment, and organization to optimize warehouse distribution efficiency. Support shipping & receiving activities by inspecting incoming shipments for accuracy and damages. Utilize basic math skills to calculate weights, volumes, and shipment costs accurately. Ensure proper packaging of products for E-commerce orders to prevent damage during transit. Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives related to order picking, packing, and load/unload processes. Qualifications Proven experience in warehouse operations or logistics roles, preferably with shipping & receiving responsibilities. Familiarity with warehouse management systems (WMS), AS400, MRPs (Material Requirements Planning), and RF scanners. Ability to operate forklifts, reach trucks, pallet jacks, and other warehouse equipment safely. Strong organizational skills with attention to detail in order fulfillment processes. Basic math skills for calculating weights, measurements, and shipment costs accurately. Knowledge of packaging standards suitable for E-commerce shipments. Experience with order picker tools and inventory stocking procedures. Excellent communication skills to collaborate effectively within a team environment. A proactive attitude towards safety protocols and process improvements.
