Purchasing Agent Intern DEPARTMENT: 5SC200 Purchasing MGD REPORTS TO: Supervisor Purchasing CLASSIFICATION: Hourly (Non-Exempt) SHIFT: 1st Shift SHIFT DIFFERENTIAL: No PAY GRADE: 3 SCHEDULE: 7:00 AM - 4:00 PM ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Purchase materials, supplies, and components to support production and operational needs Communicate with vendors regarding pricing, lead times, and order status Create and manage purchase orders in the company ERP system Monitor inventory levels and help prevent material shortages or overstock situations Track deliveries and follow up on late or missing shipments Maintain accurate purchasing records and supplier information Support cost reduction and supplier improvement initiatives Coordinate with production, warehouse, and accounting teams to ensure smooth material flow Assist in evaluating supplier performance related to quality, pricing, and delivery Ensure purchased materials meet company quality and specification requirements Other duties may be assigned. QUALIFICATIONS: Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Ability to prioritize tasks. Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint) Great interpersonal skills are essential to operate in and maintain a team environment. Great communication skills and ability to follow instructions. EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE: High school diploma or equivalent. 0-1 year of experience in an administrative support role preferred.
