Purchasing Assistant

LHH Recruitment is working with a company in Tempe who is in search of a purchasing assistant to join their team. This role is fully onsite, Monday-Friday. The salary range is between $25/hr-$29/hr DOE

Key Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for ordering and accounting for job site material
  • Assist in creating, reviewing, and processing purchase orders
  • Enter purchasing information and ensure GL codes and project numbers are accurate
  • Track open orders, backorders, and delivery schedules to ensure on-time fulfillment
  • Communicate with vendors regarding pricing, availability, lead times, and order status
  • Research and resolve any invoice or PO discrepancies and coordinate returns and credit memos
  • Enter inventory and material transfers into the accounting system for tracking and reporting purposes
  • Prepare reports and documentation to support buying decisions

Qualifications:

  • At least 2 years of purchasing experience in a corporate environment
  • Strong understanding of supply chain and procurement processes
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications is a plus
  • Proficiency with ERP/MRP systems and Microsoft Office
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and organizational skills
  • Ability to work independently in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment
