Salary Range: $65,000 to $75,000 annually, depending on experience

Description:

AmeriStaff Inc, is recruiting for a Maintenance Purchasing Clerk to join a lead manufacturer of colored filament fiber, yarn and staple fiber. This is a specialized role bridging the gap between administrative procurement and technical maintenance operations. This position ensures the maintenance team has the parts, tools, and supplies needed to minimize equipment downtime while staying within budget. This role requires a blend of administrative precision, technical aptitude, and strong organizational skills.

Responsibilities of the Maintenance Purchasing Clerk:

Purchasing & order management: Generate and process purchase orders (POs) for maintenance materials and services. Obtain competitive quotes and negotiate pricing/terms with vendors to maximize cost savings.

Inventory Control: Manage the maintenance stockroom, including organizing parts and conducting regular cycle counts. Establish and adjust minimum/maximum stock levels for critical spare parts.

Receiving & Verification: Inspect incoming shipments to verify quantities and quality against POs and packing slips. Resolve any discrepancies, such as damaged goods, backorders, or pricing errors.

Administration: Track work orders, parts usage and history.

Vendor Management: Research and vet new suppliers and maintain positive relationships with existing suppliers. Coordinate with outside contractors for specialized repairs or service contracts.

Budgeting & Reporting: Maintain budget impact trackers and compile monthly maintenance KPI reports (spending metrics, machine up time, etc.) Assist the Maintenance Manager in forecasting annual budget needs.

Administrative Support: Maintain equipment files, mechanical drawings, and warranty records. Assist with safety documentation (LOTO placards, safety maps) as needed.

Required Skills & Qualifications of the Maintenance Purchasing Clerk:

Experience: 2-4 years experience in purchasing, inventory management, or a maintenance related administrative role.

Education: High school diploma required.

Technical Proficiency: Experience with Gmail, Google Sheets, Google Docs.

Soft Skills: Strong negotiation, analytical, and communication skills to deal with diverse stakeholders from shop floor to executive level.

Physical Ability: Must be able to navigate a production environment and occasionally lift up to 50 lbs. Must wear appropriate PPE and follow all safety procedures/rules.
