Senior Export Specialist

Role OverviewThis position is responsible for the processing and follow-up of Export customer orders. The position requires extensive follow-through with customers, sales, production and logistics to ensure timely delivery and accurate billing of customer orders.

Key Responsibilities

Maintain direct responsibility for designated accounts, from order receipt through shipment, invoicing and document deliveryAccurate and timely entry of customer ordersHandle daily service and order activities.Work closely with plant schedulers and transportation group to secure on-time deliveriesPlay critical role in developing customer relationships and resolving customer issuesBackup team membersMaintain master file informationInvoice orders and complete month-end closing transactionsEntry of credits, debits, and sample order requestsMeet department KPIsRecording and reporting on ongoing issues

QualificationsEducation:

Bachelor's degree in international business or related field is recommendedMinimum 3-4 years working in an export or import logistics capacity

Skills & Abilities:

Familiarity with SAP, JDE or similar ERP environment desirable.

Detail oriented with a high level of accuracy and organizationExcellent communication and organizational skillsAble to handle multiple tasks effectively and efficiently with multiple interruptions

College degree preferred.

Ability to work independently and on a teamBasic level of Microsoft 365 suite and internet skills

Ability to maintain composure under pressureEffective problem-solving skillsKnowledge of general freight forwarding terms and standardsKnowledge of U.S. Customs Regulations and Harmonized Tariff ScheduleCross cultural awareness
