Qualifications: The crew member must:
Have relevant experience in a comparable work environment.
High School Diploma or equivalent.
Hold or obtain a forklift operator certification.
Working knowledge of occupational hazards and safety precautions of the trade.
Have a valid State of Kansas Driver's License.
Possesses a work ethic that is strongly oriented toward both efficiency and customer service.
Technology skills including email, work processing, spreadsheets, work orders.
Basic mechanical knowledge and skills to add fluids to vehicles, change wiper blades, etc
Meet all job standards in a time sensitive manner as determined by the Supervisor.
Ability to work unsupervised and take initiative. Demonstrate ability to meet quality and quantity standards and on time requirements.
Ability to manage and follow a schedule.
Meet District grooming and interpersonal standards.
Meet all District safety requirements.
Be able to work a 40-hour workweek. Overtime is often available.
Be able to work in any and all weather, temperatures, and lighting conditions under which the job must be performed.
Reports to: Executive Director of Operations
Job Goal: Organize and coordinate the use and maintenance of district owned vehicles and maintain a safe and orderly district warehouse.
Performance Responsibilities:
Manage vehicle check in and check out process.
Maintain a vehicle maintenance schedule and coordinate with service providers.
Maintain and implement a vehicle detailing schedule.
Prepare vehicles for check out by keeping them clean, fueled, and free from defects that would prevent safe and comfortable use.
Prepare vehicles for and coordinate annual vehicle inspections with the Kansas Highway Patrol.
Receive deliveries and maintain a neat and orderly district warehouse.
Operate the district forklift.
Schedule and coordinate annual forklift service and any needed maintenance or repairs.
Deliver copy paper to district buildings when requested.
Assist with mowing, trimming, and other grounds or general maintenance tasks during times when vehicle checkout demand is lower.
Assist with removing snow/ice from parking lots and sidewalks.
Complete work orders as assigned.
Performs other duties as assigned.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS/ENVIRONMENTAL CONDITIONS:
Manage job requirements with physical mobility to move from place to place (walking, standing, stooping, pushing, pulling, kneeling, crawling, turning, reaching, climbing, balancing, lift up to 60 pounds on a daily basis)
Use of miscellaneous hand and power tools
Operate for lift
Operate trucks, trailers, utility vehicles, field grooming equipment, lawn mowers and other equipment as needed
Work will include interaction with electricity, water, natural gas, batteries, cleaning chemicals
Must work in and around water, dust, fumes, grass, chemicals, and odors.
Must work in noisy and crowded environments, with numerous interruptions.
Must work indoors and outdoors year-round in a variety of temperatures.
Requires regular attendance and/or physical presence at the job.
Terms of Employment: Twelve-month at-will position. 40 hour work week or as established by the Board. Schedules or shifts may be altered depending upon the critical nature or emergency circumstances of the job. Work hours will be determined as required by conditions. Vacation and sick day allowances included in District Personnel Policy.
Evaluation: Performance of this job will be evaluated in accordance with provisions of the Board's policy as stated in the Classified Handbook.
