Location: 94 South Street, Hopkinton, MA 01748 (fully onsite)

Duration: Long term

Contract to Hire: Possible

They do not need any experience with lab equipment or media orders. They will be trained onsite on the media making, media and packing requirements and gravimetric analysis.

Key Responsibilities:

Utilize the Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS) to accurately complete sample entry for all received samples daily. (~30-50%)

Receive and process media orders; independently collect, package, and ship media to clients in accordance with the Media Order form requirements. (~20-30%)

Wash and assemble air sampling media for industrial hygienists and external clients.

Maintain media inventory by entering tare weights and barcodes into the LIMS.

Perform gravimetric analysis of air samples in strict accordance with the lab's quality control procedures.

Engage in written and verbal communication with clients to support media requests and sample log-in inquiries, providing professional and timely responses.

Support daily operations as needed.

Skills needed:

Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to interact professionally with clients and team members.

Strong ability to prioritize tasks, manage multiple responsibilities, work both independently and in a team setting to fulfill responsibilities.

Able to work in a fast paced and dynamic laboratory environment.

Strong organizational skills and attention to detail are required.

Able to easily adopt new technology and processes.

Familiarity with computers and software applications.

Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.) is required.

Knowledge of a LIMS (Laboratory Information Management System) is preferred but not required.

Knowledge of Industrial Hygiene sampling media is a plus.

Day to Day:

First thing in the morning, review emails/orders and process media orders.

Prepare any media shipments that are outgoing and create a UPS label.

When UPS and Fed/Ex drop off, open the boxes of samples and check the samples against the Chain of Custody.

Correspond with customers and the labs Production Coordinator about any issues with the samples.

Spend several hours logging the samples into the labs LIMS system.

Once samples are logged in, prepare media, enter barcode information into the LIMS and/or analyze gravimetric samples.

Receive consumable materials and chemical orders. Any chemicals received will be entered into the chemical inventory system. They are sealed, unopened bottles of solvents, metals, etc. There is no exposure or handling at all and they will receive training. This likely will only happen a few times a week/month
