Your responsibility will be leading the Laboratory's Immunoassay Screening Department.
Salary: $60,000 – 73,000 annually + Full-Time Benefits

You will also be responsible for: accessioning, loading the instruments, reviewing the data from the instrument, method development, preparation of calibration and control material, conducting validations per CAP and CLIA regulations, and maintenance of the instruments. This person will be a resource for other screening technicians in keeping the instruments functional and throughput proceeding.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES (other duties may be assigned)
Manages the screening department in the laboratory
Ensures efficient and timely analysis of all samples
Trains new laboratory technicians for screening department
Manages and leads the Screening Technician Team
Operates and maintains Screening Instruments and reviews of data in compliance with current Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and regulatory guidelines
Leads the screening team in completing daily and other regular instrument maintenance.
Maintains up-to-date knowledge of screening methods
Leads the team in troubleshooting issues with screening instruments
Meets laboratory productivity targets on a consistent basis
Manages the screening laboratory inventory
Adheres to all security procedures for ensuring the confidentiality of donor information
Adheres to all established guidelines outlined in Averhealth's Guidebook
Acts as operations lead in the absence of the Laboratory Site Director.
QualificationsKNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES
Advanced knowledge of forensic toxicology services
Advanced knowledge of screening methods
Advanced ability to understand analytical techniques and procedures
Advanced ability to understand laboratory instrumentation
Advanced ability to understand certification requirements for CAP and CLIA
Basic understanding of drugs of abuse that are tested
Ability to maintain a high level of attention to detail
Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
Ability to complete the job with no errors
Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing
Ability to pass a color-blind test, accommodations made if not
Skill in the use of computers, especially Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
B.S. degree in Biology, Chemistry, Forensic Science, or related field or training and experience comparable in a related field
1-3 years of Supervisor experience, preferred
Experience in the forensic toxicology field, especially with the analysis of biological material for drugs of abuse
