We are seeking a hands-on Production Manager to lead daily operations and production planning within a fast-paced, USDA-regulated meat manufacturing facility, Boston, MA. This individual will be responsible for driving efficiency, scaling production, and helping transition the operation from a single-shift to a two-shift environment. The ideal candidate brings a strong background in production planning, team leadership, and continuous improvement. Schedule: Monday-Friday, 6:00 AM - 4:00 PM (approx. 50 hours/week) Reporting To: CEO Team Size: Approximately 80-100 production employees Key Responsibilities: Lead and manage all production operations across two shifts, ensuring safety, quality, and productivity targets are met Build and implement production planning and scheduling processes to optimize throughput and minimize downtime Play a key role in scaling operations from one shift to two shifts, including workforce planning and process standardization Drive continuous improvement initiatives focused on efficiency, waste reduction, and cost control Monitor and analyze KPIs (labor efficiency, yield, downtime, etc.) to improve operational performance Collaborate cross-functionally with Quality, Maintenance, and Supply Chain to ensure seamless operations Ensure compliance with USDA regulations, food safety standards, and company policies Develop, coach, and lead supervisors and production staff to build a high-performing team Maintain a strong presence on the production floor, addressing issues in real time Qualifications: 3-5+ years of experience in production or operations management within a manufacturing environment Prior experience in meat processing or USDA-regulated facilities strongly preferred Proven track record of production planning and scheduling responsibility Experience helping with scale operations (e.g., adding a second shift, increasing capacity, etc.) Strong leadership skills with the ability to manage teams of 80+ employees Knowledge of lean manufacturing principles and continuous improvement methodologies Ability to work in a fast-paced, hands-on environment Preferred Skills: Experience in high-volume food production environments Familiarity with ERP/MRP systems for production planning Strong analytical and problem-solving skills Excellent communication and organizational abilities What's in it for you: Competitive market salary Great benefits Advancement opportunities If you are interested, please submit your resume to Rick at ... for immediate consideration.
