Description
The specialist is responsible for the intake and processing of all transport requests and scheduling of patient transports to meet the patient's needs. As well as coordinating courier services throughout the district. Primary job duties include office secretarial work but will require covering driving routes if necessary.
Obeys traffic laws and follows established traffic and transportation departmental and accreditation guidelines.
Maintains inspection logs on all vehicles, supplies, and equipment, such as gas, oil, water, tires, lights, and brakes, to ensure that vehicles are in proper working condition. Keeps the vehicle clean and secure at all times.
Demonstrates the patience and tact necessary for contact with patients.
Operates a van equipped to provide nonemergency transport of mobility- impaired individuals by accommodating wheelchairs, walkers, and strollers and offering safe custom transportation to medical appointments and treatments.
Has sole responsibility for managing courier and patient transportation schedules to ensure efficient operations
Oversees all reporting for the transportation department, including tracking expenses and credit card usage.
