Vaco is recruiting for an International Trade Compliance Manager.
This is a hybrid and direct hire opportunity -
Responsibilities:
Export & Import Compliance
Manage compliance with U.S. export control regulations, including ITAR, EAR, and OFAC sanctions applicable to aerospace, defense, and use materials.
Oversee accurate Harmonized Tariff Schedule (HTS) classification for specialty metals such as titanium, nickel alloys, stainless steels, and based alloys.
Ensure proper country of origin determinations, valuation, and admissibility for imported materials from global mill partners.
Regulatory & Government Agency Compliance
Maintain compliance with Partner Government Agency (PGA) requirements, including:
o Environmental and chemical regulations such as EU REACH, RoHS, and CBAM
o Conflict Minerals and forced labor compliance requirements
Manage documentation supporting customer and regulatory audits, including export licenses, certifications, and regulatory filings.
Trade Operations & Documentation
Establish and enforce standard operating procedures for international shipments, including:
o Commercial invoices, packing lists, certificates of origin, and mill test reports
o Proper application of Incoterms to define risk and cost transfer
Support multi location operations across North America, Europe, and Asia by providing centralized trade compliance guidance.
Risk Management & Internal Controls
Conduct denied party and restricted party screening for customers, suppliers, and logistics partners.
Monitor geopolitical and regulatory changes that may impact metals sourcing, tariffs, embargoes, or sanctions.
Lead internal investigations, voluntary disclosures, and corrective actions when compliance issues arise.
Financial & Strategic Trade Programs
Identify and implement duty mitigation strategies such as:
o Free Trade Agreements (FTAs)
o Duty drawback
o Tariff engineering opportunities
