Strategic Sourcing Specialist
REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:
- Basic computer knowledge, legal aspects of purchasing.
- Must possess ERP (Oracle) knowledge.
- Ability to communicate effectively with sales representatives and other personnel by phone, in person, or through written communication.
- Negotiation: Proven track record of fact-based negotiations
- Work under pressure in a detailed and organized manner.
- Assimilate information to make decisive decisions.
- Able to work in a team environment.
- Able to work with minimal supervision.
- Strong business acumen.
- Availability to travel.
WHAT'S NEEDED FOR YOU TO THRIVE:
- Must be classified as a commodity (or product line) expert.
- Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Mgmt., business or technical field preferred.
- Three to five years as a buyer or any combination of experience, education, or training that would provide the level of knowledge, skill, and ability required.
- Multi-lingual preferred.

WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING:
Act as the liaison between Americas' Sourcing and Group Purchasing
Develop the interface between the two groups to create ongoing efficiency and cost reductions
Ensure the maintenance and update of the Group Purchasing tools & processes (Sourcing board, BU/CP file, collaborative action plan, supplier consolidation, NOWC actions, etc.)
Category Strategy: Develop and execute multi-year-sourcing roadmaps for assigned commodities to align with business growth and production needs and in accordance with the Group Purchasing Strategic Plan
Maintain commodity or product line knowledge of current industry conditions including:
Pricing information and trends
Vendor information
Manage vendor relationships, including:
Selection and performance
Maintaining and growing vendor managed inventory programs.
Maintain a vendor performance and relationship management program.
Analyze vendor quality trends and initiate corrective actions as determined.
Negotiate terms, pricing and delivery/service conditions with vendors. Partner with material buyer/planners, shared service and manufacturing associates as required to accomplish:
Research products.
Clarify specifications.
Document competitive bidding.
Coordinate and evaluate engineering changes regarding new products and modification to existing products to guarantee that all outside purchased items meet necessary specifications.
Initiate and lead system enhancement projects.
Cost & Spend Analysis: Use ERP data and spend analytics to identify cost-saving opportunities and prioritize high-value sourcing projects.
Risk Mitigation: Proactively identify and manage supply chain risks related to geopolitical issues, capacity constraints, or financial stability.
Perform other duties as assigned.
