Job DetailsJob Location: Keany Charlotte - Charlotte , NC 28273Position Type: Full TimeSalary Range: $19.00 HourlyJob Shift: AnyThe Receiving Associate will perform the day-to-day operations of warehouse receiving, with a designated start time and no set end time. End times may vary based on workload and business needs. A Receiving Associate is also responsible for ensuring that produce and dairy products being delivered to Keany Produce are received from its suppliers and stored in the proper manner within the Keany Produce warehouse areas.
Essential Job Functions
Organize workflow within the Receiving Department
Rotate all products before placing them in the appropriate slot
Assure safe work practices within the Receiving Department
Follow Company policies and procedures.
Provide proper warehouse and receiving documentation as needed.
Handle product discrepancies / shortages / other problems.
Maintain a clean and properly stocked warehouse
Perform other related duties as may be required.
Working Conditions/Job Environment
Degree of physical demands (strength) usually associated with this position.
Minimum lift requirement 50-60 lbs. on a regular basis
Moving pallet jacks and forklifts.
Frequent stopping and bending
Working in 36 to 40-degree (F) warehouse areas for 8 to12 hours on a daily basis
QualificationsEducation: High School Diploma or equivalent industry experience
Experience: Two years of warehouse receiving experience.
Knowledge: Thorough product knowledge, including acceptable substitutes and frequently ordered items
Warehouse receiving and storage processes and procedures
Knowledge of produce types and ability to make judgments on product quality
Basic knowledge of inventory control and Microsoft Office software applications
Skills and Abilities:
Comfortable working in a fast paced, multi-tasked environment, and have good organizational skills.
Must be a self-starter, assertive – decision maker, forward thinker, and problem solver.
Able to drive a stand-up forklift, riding pallet jack, and a sit-down forklift
Able to lift and load cases on to warehouse shelves properly and safely
Ability to read put-away reports and match slot location and case product description
Basic math.
Very strong verbal and written communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
Education: High School Diploma
Experience: Three years of warehouse receiving experience.
Advanced knowledge of warehouse receiving and storage processes and procedures
Advanced knowledge of produce types and ability to make judgments on product quality
Advanced knowledge of inventory control and Microsoft Office Software applications
Thorough knowledge of Keany Produce policies and procedures.
Knowledge of Maryland Workers’ Compensation law.
Skills and Abilities:
Flexibility and adaptability to change in work assignments and priorities.
