As our new Staff Transportation Planner / Engineer , you would be an important part of our Community and Mobility Planning (CAMP) team.
Role
This role is responsible for the preparation of draft transportation planning and traffic engineering studies and reports, as well as supporting the preparation of design plans. Projects include private development/traffic impact studies, public-sector mobility planning work, as well as our safe streets, active transportation, parking management, TDM, and smart growth studies.
This position is located in New Haven, Connecticut. Hybrid arrangements could be allowed for up to 2 days per week.

Qualifications/Education/Memberships:
Bachelors Degree in Transportation Engineering or Planning, or related field
EIT or similar certification, or ability to obtain in 1-2 years
The desire and ability to research, present and convey information clearly and concisely
Strong verbal and written communication skills
Familiarity with HCS, SYNCHRO/SimTraffic, VISSIM, CADD, GIS software is desirable
Some familiarity with emerging best practices in transportation
Some familiarity with local, state, and federal guidelines/standards and policies is desirable
Valid drivers license
Critical thinker with strong communication skills
Efficient, thorough, detail-oriented, and dedicated to quality work
Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships
Ability to work in a collaborative team environment
