RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Source materials, equipment and services through the RFP process, including
    bidding and contract execution.
  • Identify potential suppliers.
  • Solicit quotes and technical documentation from suppliers.
  • Negotiate awards and implement contracts and purchase orders.
  • Resolve problems regarding material delivery, price discrepancies, quality issues,
    invoice discrepancies, and/or adjustments.
  • Analyze supplier proposals for price, performance, capability, quality, delivery,
    compliance with order terms, and consistency with sourcing strategy.
  • Support identification and implementation of cost improvements for purchased
    materials and services.
  • Work with the business unit on scope documentation and bidding strategies.
  • Prioritize requisitions to ensure equipment, material and services are obtained in a
    timely fashion with emphasis on quality, cost and availability.
  • Adhere to procurement policy and procedures.
QUALIFICATIONS

Sr. Buyer:

  • 2 - 4 years related experience.
  • Knowledge of procurement practices, procedures, and policies.
  • Basic knowledge of business and contract law.
  • Knowledge of MRP, ERP, and purchasing and logistics systems and processes.
  • Basic knowledge of accounting principles and financial analysis.
  • Knowledge of materials and services delivery fulfillment processes.
  • Strong verbal, written, and presentation skills.
  • Demonstrated effective influencing, persuasion, and negotiation skills.
  • Computer proficiency skills.
  • Forecasting and trend analysis skills.
  • Value and cost analysis skills.
  • Ability to apply analytical skills to diverse issues.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
  • Ability to use sound business judgment.
  • Ability to anticipate, understand, and respond to customer needs.

Associate Procurement & Contract Specialist:

  • Those qualifications noted under Sr. Buyer along with:
  • 5 + years related experience.
  • Working knowledge of procurement practices, procedures, and policies.
  • Working knowledge of business and contract law.
  • Working knowledge of accounting principles and financial analysis.
  • Operational knowledge of supplier relations, priority management, and tactical planning.
  • Excellent verbal, written, and presentation skills.
  • Strong negotiation skills.
  • Ability to conduct complex bid events.
  • Work management skills.
  • Effective human relations skills.

Education :

  • Bachelor (Typically four years of related, progressive work experience would be needed for candidates applying for this position who do not possess a bachelor's degree.)
