Your responsibilities will be diverse and dynamic, encompassing everything from sourcing and negotiating with suppliers to supporting cross-functional teams and driving cost reduction initiatives.
Key Responsibilities:
New Model Development: Engage in the exciting process of sourcing, pricing, and reviewing designs for new models. You'll track milestones and ensure the timely delivery of first production parts, playing a crucial role in bringing our innovative products to market.
Supplier Engagement: Travel to suppliers to assess their capabilities and address our business needs in relation to Quality, Cost, and Delivery (QCD). You'll have the opportunity to discover new sourcing options that align with our strategic goals.
Cost Reduction Initiatives: Take the lead in identifying and implementing cost-saving activities, contributing to our overall efficiency and profitability.
Cross-Departmental Support: Collaborate with various departments, including Quality, Planning, and R&D, to ensure that our suppliers meet our high standards and support our operational needs.
Pricing Negotiation: Engage in strategic negotiations with suppliers and maintain pricing structures, ensuring that we secure the best deals while fostering strong relationships.
Essential Skills and Experience:
- A Bachelors degree or 5 years of relevant purchasing experience.
- Proficiency in MS Office applications.
- Technical knowledge of commodities relevant to our industry.
- Understanding of fundamental accounting principles and business transactions.
- Familiarity with Kubota products and market dynamics.
- Previous experience in purchasing or buying roles.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills to effectively convey ideas and collaborate with team members.
Travel Requirements:
- This role requires domestic and international travel, offering you the chance to explore new locations and meet our valued suppliers.
