Job Summary:
The primary responsibility of this position is the effective and efficient management of the packing and shipping operations in a way that ensures accurate, on-time deliveries to our customers.
Job Duties:
- Maintains a clean and orderly work area/warehouse
- Maintains a safe working environment by following all company safety policies and procedures and reports unsafe conditions and incidents, while maintaining quality standards
- Maintains company's quality standards and follows computer procedures to handle damaged material and quarantine material
- Responsible for Packing Department operations and equipment
- Responsible for inventory control/management of inventory/finished goods
- Ensure that shipment documentation and data entry into reporting system is accurately completed and routed to Customer Service, and other functions and/or data entered into reporting system as required
- Work in conjunction with Scheduler and Shift Operations Leaders to ensure accurate and timely entry of all finished goods, rewinds, and off-cuts
- Work to efficiently reuse pallets and endplates
- Responsible for effective management of outbound shipments
Job Qualifications:
- High school diploma or (General Education Degree) GED required
- One to three years’ experience in shipping or receiving function in manufacturing environment
- Must have organizational skills with an ability to prioritize and multi-task
- Must have tow motor experience and be able to successfully complete tow motor certification training
- Exceptional attention to detail and good follow-up skills
- Must possess good problem-solving skills
- Ability to interact in a professional manner with coworkers, other departments, and vendors
- Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing
- Basic computer skills
- Willingness to work as team member or independently
- Must be able to lift up to 50lbs
- Must be willing to work in other departments and/or areas and complete miscellaneous duties as assigned.
