Assistant Distribution Center Manager-Louisville, KY
Job Overview
Support the Distribution Center Manager in driving operational excellence, regulatory compliance, and scalable growth. Serve as a key leader within the Distribution Center located in Louisville, KY, ensuring readiness for a significant expansion in volume aligned with company's strategic growth.
Responsibilities
Operations & Workflow Management
- Coordinate end-to-end distribution center operations, including receiving, putaway, storage, order fulfillment, shipping, and returns.
- Drive the improvement of processes through implementing lean and continuous improvement practices.
- Monitor order accuracy, on-time shipments, and productivity.
Inventory & Compliance
- Manage inventory control processes, including cycle counts, critical/expiry monitoring, and reconciliation.
- Ensure strict adherence to FDA regulations and ISO standards, including accurate lot and traceability documentation.
- Oversee accurate documentation, safe work practices, and compliant product handling throughout the DC.
Team Leadership & Development
- Lead, coach, and develop the warehouse team, fostering accountability and a culture of operational excellence.
- Support shift scheduling, new-hire training, performance reviews, and safety coaching.
Strategic Growth & Scalability
- Support business growth by implementing scalable processes and systems, including automation, on-demand warehousing, and DC layout design.
- Participate in capacity planning and support future expansion initiatives aligned with business objectives.
- Collaborate with multi-site teams and corporate leaders to ensure cohesive strategy execution.
Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Liaise with Inventory Planning, Quality, Trade Compliance & Transportation, Customer Service and other teams to streamline product flow and resolve issues.
- Coordinate inbound carriage schedules and outbound shipments with carriers and third-party logistics providers (3PLs).
Education and Experience Requirements
- 3 - 5 years of direct Warehouse/DC supervisory experience with a diverse employee base in a regulated environment, including proven strength in leading, mentoring, and developing employees.
- Proficient with MS Office and Warehouse Management Systems (WMS); SAP/EWM a plus.
- Demonstrated knowledge and success in use of continuous improvement/lean principles, KPI-driven performance, and team development in a warehouse setting.
- Familiarity with FDA/ISO compliance, traceability, and documentation standards.
- Problemsolving mindset with ability to manage complexity and communicate effectively.
- Ability to lift up to 50lbs. and work in DC environments (temperature variations, etc.).
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Business, Engineering, or related field.
- Medical Device or Pharma experience
- Professional certifications: CSCP, CLTD, APICS, Lean/Six Sigma.
- Experience with medical device distribution networks and scalable warehousing solutions.
- Past involvement in site expansion, construction, or automation projects.
- Forklift operations
Salary Range
The anticipated salary range for candidates is $85,000 to $105,000. The final salary offered to a successful candidate will depend on several factors that may include but are not limited to the type and length of experience within the job, type and length of experience within the industry, education, etc. Fisher & Paykel Healthcare is a multi-state employer, and this salary range may not reflect positionsthat work inother states.
