INNIO is forming a new joint venture between Jenbacher, a global leader in gas engines, power equipment, and automation technology, and Gfoellner, a top-tier manufacturer of custom-made vehicle bodies and containers. Our goal is to synergize our expertise to deliver innovative, high-quality, and reliable solutions to our customers. We are currently seeking skilled and dedicated individuals to join our growing team starting late summer/early fall 2025 at our Trenton, NJ facility. As a Purchasing Agent, you will be responsible for translating demands into purchase orders to ensure timely availability of materials while optimizing inventory levels. This role serves as a liaison between production, logistics, and planning teams to align material flow with business needs. You will also play a role in supplier coordination, risk mitigation, and continuous improvement of procurement planning processes. Essential Responsibilities: Convert demand into purchase orders to ensure material availability in alignment with production schedules and inventory targets. Monitor supplier performance and capacity to proactively identify and mitigate risks to material supply. Collaborate with supply chain teams to define procurement strategies, including economic order quantities, lead times, and reorder points. Act as a point of contact between planning, production, logistics, and suppliers to prioritize material flow based on changing requirements. Support new product introductions, phase-ins/phase-outs, and engineering changes by ensuring timely procurement of required components. Analyze inventory levels and usage trends to identify opportunities for cost savings and improved procurement efficiency. Partner with schedulers and production teams to resolve material shortages and implement corrective actions. Participate in cross-functional projects to improve procurement planning processes, tools, and KPIs. Contribute to make/buy decisions using full-cost models and strategic sourcing input. Qualifications/Requirements: Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business, Operations, or a related field and 3+ years of experience in procurement, materials planning, or supply chain in a manufacturing environment, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Strong understanding of procurement planning principles, supplier management, and inventory control. Proficiency in ERP systems and Microsoft Excel; experience with MRP tools is a plus. Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills. Strong communication and collaboration skills with the ability to influence cross-functional teams. Ability to adapt quickly to changing priorities and manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
