We are seeking a hands-on Shipping & Receiving Supervisor to lead our shipping & receiving teams as well as ensure accurate and timely order fulfillment.

Job Summary

The Shipping & Receiving Supervisor is a hands-on, front-line leader responsible for building and leading all outbound and inbound logistics operations at our site. This role will define the team structure, hire, and develop personnel (with managerial support), and establish standard operating procedures (SOPs) to drive safety, accuracy, and efficiency. The supervisor will be accountable for executing daily shipping and receiving activities, maintaining a clean and organized warehouse, and sustaining a culture of discipline, urgency, and continuous improvement.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Define and implement the structure of the shipping and receiving function; lead hiring, onboarding, and training efforts in partnership with the Senior Operations Manager.
• Create, maintain, and enforce SOPs for all shipping, receiving, staging, and warehouse operations.
• Supervise daily operations for all inbound and outbound activities, including LTL, parcel, and international shipments.

• Lead, coach, and hold team members accountable for performance, adherence to processes, and safe behaviors.
• Ensure all outgoing shipments are picked, packed, documented, and shipped on time with high accuracy.
• Oversee timely and accurate receiving, inspection, transaction, and staging or put-away of incoming materials in JDE.
• Conduct regular audits of shipping and receiving transactions, documentation, and team compliance with SOPs.
• Own cleanliness and organization of the dock and warehouse areas; enforce 5S and visual controls.
• Ensure export documentation and procedures are completed in compliance with all regulatory requirements.
• Coordinate with customer service and production to prioritize critical orders and resolve exceptions.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in warehouse, shipping/receiving, or logistics operations.
• Minimum of 3 years of supervisory experience in a fast-paced manufacturing or distribution environment.
• Proven experience in building and managing a team, creating SOPs, and sustaining process discipline.
• Strong working knowledge of ERP systems (preferably JD Edwards), shipping platforms (UPS/FedEx, Precision), and basic computer skills.
• Experience and ability to operate forklift
• Experience with inventory, cycle counts and/or audit
• Familiarity with international shipping and export documentation is a strong plus.
• Effective communicator who can lead from the floor, drive accountability, and improve team performance.
• Able to lift up to 50 lbs. and work in a physically active, floor-based leadership role.
