Summary

Lincoln electric has an outstanding opportunity for a Materials Manager at our Ladson, SC operation. The Materials Manager plays a key role in the development, execution, and continuous improvement of all shipping, receiving, warehousing, and production planning activities. This role oversees demand planning and logistics to ensure customer service levels are met at optimal cost. What You Will Do

The Materials Manager will lead the Production Planning and Logistics team in the following areas:

  • Minimize waste and defects in physical and transactional materials management processes
  • Analyze demand and manage inventory levels of WIP and finished goods to meet Days Inventory On-hand (D10) and On-Time Delivery (OTD) targets
  • Maintain accurate planning parameters in the ERP system
  • Design material flow and inventory control processes to ensure inventory accuracy
  • Schedule production orders in alignment with OTD goals
  • Collaborate with the Production Manager to determine plant resource needs
  • Ensure materials are stored efficiently and safely to preserve quality and facilitate flow
  • Prepare outbound shipments and coordinate transportation logistics
  • Ensure compliance with trade and regulatory requirements
  • Resolve invoice and payment issues with vendors
  • Update material cost data and support Finance during annual cost roll-ups
  • Perform general duties as assigned and assist in other areas as workload allows
Education and Experience Requirements
  • Minimum of 3 years relevant experience
  • 2+ years' experience in a manufacturing environment
  • Strong problem-solving abilities in variable and dynamic environments
  • Ability to interpret and follow written, verbal, diagram, or schedule-based instructions
  • Intermediate math proficiency (e.g., percentages, volumes, discounts, etc.)
  • High attention to detail and strong organizational skills
  • Results-oriented and goal-driven work ethic
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills across all organizational levels
  • Self-motivated with the ability to manage prioritize multiple tasks
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and general computer literacy

Preferred

  • APICS certification
  • Working knowledge of lean manufacturing principles
  • Experience with SAP ERP systems

WORK ENVIRONMENT
