Are you an experienced and analytical Heavy Equipment Commercial Vehicle Purchasing Specialist ready to take your career to the next level? This critical role supports all TCI Companies, including Leasing/Rental and Dedicated Transportation, and offers a unique opportunity to play a pivotal role in our supply chain and capital project management. Location: Phoenix, AZ Position Type: Full-Time Starting Base Pay: $65,000/year What You'll Do Equipment Purchasing & Vendor Management Manage end-to-end purchasing operations , including creating and tracking purchase orders, expediting deliveries, maintaining inventory levels, and coordinating with internal teams to meet operational demands. Lead procurement of capital and fleet equipment , ensuring accurate specifications, competitive pricing, and on-time delivery by working closely with Sales, Service, and Rental departments. Analyze requisitions to determine equipment needs. Build strong vendor relationships to secure optimal pricing and delivery. Source and negotiate with suppliers to secure high-quality parts and services at the best value. Maintain accurate vendor records including pricing, part numbers, and terms. Develop and implement strategic truck sourcing strategies to support TCI's growth and fleet expansion objectives. Prospect, evaluate, and qualify new truck suppliers across the United States , including conducting technical visits and comprehensive evaluations. Conduct in-depth market analysis to identify emerging trends, pricing benchmarks, and opportunities for cost reduction within the truck procurement landscape. Lead negotiations for Service Level Agreements (SLAs) and contracts with new and existing suppliers, ensuring favorable terms, quality standards, and compliance. Manage supplier relationships, track performance, and drive continuous improvement initiatives. Collaborate closely with internal teams, including Maintenance, Operations, and Finance , to ensure alignment on truck specifications and delivery schedules. Project Management - Construction & Building Maintenance Develop bid packages and coordinate with subcontractors and vendors. Evaluate bids for cost-effectiveness and quality. Manage vendor performance and ensure project standards are met. Inventory Management Monitor and replenish parts inventory. Ensure supplier performance and fulfillment expectations are met. Source alternative suppliers for backordered parts. Process Optimization & Analytics Streamline purchasing processes through data analysis and continuous improvement. Track and evaluate supplier performance to drive efficiencies. Support procurement process improvements by maintaining ERP system data and resolving invoicing issues with Accounts Payable. Participate in strategic sourcing initiatives and monitor market trends for cost-saving opportunities. Compliance & Cross-Department Collaboration Maintain procurement documentation in line with legal and company standards. Collaborate with teams across operations, finance, and service to support strategic goals. Present insightful purchasing reports and cost analyses to leadership. What You Bring to the Table Bachelor's Degree preferred (or equivalent experience). 5+ years in procurement, supply chain, or inventory management, with experience in heavy truck equipment maintenance. Experience in MRO, heavy equipment, or commercial truck procurement strongly preferred. Deep knowledge of commercial truck parts, components, and systems. Strong vendor negotiation and contract management skills. Familiarity with construction project lifecycles is a plus. Detail-oriented, highly organized, and capable of independent work.
