This role manages the procurement of materials and services, including evaluating and selecting suppliers based on cost, delivery, and quality standards. It also supports the Technical Manager with various tasks and assignments. This role will typically be challenged with responsibility of 1 ship and include all activities associated with technical purchase orders. This position will need to handle multiple requests from stakeholder in terms of all tasks associated with tactical purchase orders. This position issues RFxs, evaluates bids, recommends suppliers, negotiates agreements, ensures compliance with Company and Department policies and procedures, monitors supplier performance and takes corrective action to ensure goods and services are delivered as contracted.
Essential Functions:
- Process and revise purchase orders for approved service, repair, and material requisitions generated in InfoShip/AMOS by the ships management team
- Identify and evaluate supply options through comprehensive research to source items from the most suitable suppliers
- Monitor order progress ad provide follow-up to expedite deliveries when necessary, ensuing timely arrival of supplies.
- Develop and maintain detailed progress reports to track the status and performance of procurement initiatives
- Identify and document potential cost savings and operational benefits when adopting new supply alternatives.
- Oversee the logistics and transportation of material or parts for repair, ensuing efficient delivery to their destination.
Qualifications:
- Associate or Bachelor's Degree in Supply Chain, Engineering, Business, Economics or Science
- 1-3 years experience in tactical sourcing/procurement
- 1-3 years experience in supporting internal and external stakeholders
- Procurement or negotiation certification preferred but not required
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Experience purchasing components with detailed technical specifications
- Strong purchase order lifecycle skills, price/cost analysis, and logistics process acume
- Ability to gather and analyze information skillfully.
- Proficient in the use of computer business applications such as AMOS, Microsoft Office, and Adobe.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Preferred comfortability with matrixed organizations and working on cross functional teams
Physical Demands: Must be able to remain in a stationary position at a desk and/or computer for extended periods of time.
Travel: No or very little travel likely
Work Conditions: Work primarily in a climate-controlled environment with minimal safety/health hazard potential.
This position is classified as remote. As a remote role, it allows employees to work full-time from their home. It may also require regular travel to Carnival headquarters in Miami, FL for in-office collaboration. Sourcing of candidates is primarily done in Carnivals remote hubs of Orlando, Tampa, Atlanta, Houston, and Dallas. If the search is extended past those areas, candidates must be located in one of the following U.S. states: FL, GA, TX and NC
