Shipping and Receiving Supervisor

Position Summary: The Shipping and Receiving Supervisor at INTEX Millwork Solutions will play a crucial role in ensuring the efficient and accurate movement of goods within our organization. Reporting to the Logistics Manager, this position will oversee all aspects of shipping and receiving, including coordination of shipping activities, monitoring inventory, and maintaining compliance with shipping regulations and safety standards.

Primary duties and Responsibilities will be:

  • Supervise a team of Shipping and Receiving Material Handlers/Forklift Operators, providing guidance, support, and training as needed.
  • Practices strong engagement with direct reports and team members including accepting diversity of ideas and thoughts, sharing responsibility for success, demonstrating honesty and integrity, helping employees solve problems and showing respect.
  • Assists with planning work schedules and assign duties to maintain adequate staffing levels, to ensure that activities are performed effectively, and to respond to fluctuating workloads.
  • Review work throughout the work process and at completion,to ensure that it has been performed properly.
  • Transmit and explain work orders to laborers.
  • Check specifications of materials loaded or unloaded against information contained in work orders.
  • Inform designated employees or departments of items loaded, and problems encountered.
  • Examine freight to determine loading sequences.
  • Work with the Logistics Manager to evaluate employeeperformance and prepare performance appraisals.
  • Perform the same work duties as those whom they supervise, and/or perform more difficult or skilled tasks or assist in their performance.
  • Collaborate with other departments, including production and sales, to streamline processes and resolve any issues that may arise.
  • Conduct staff meetings to relay general information or to address specific topics such as safety.
  • Counsel employees in work-related activities, personal growth, and career development.
  • Conduct regular audits to identify areas for improvement and implement corrective actions as necessary.
  • Foster a culture of teamwork, accountability, and continuous improvement within the Shipping and Receiving Department.

We believe the successful candidate will have:

  • High School Graduate or General Education Degree (GED): Required, bachelor's degree preferred.
  • 3-5 years of experience in Manufacturing/Shipping and Receiving
  • 3-5 years of experience in a supervisory role overseeing at least 6-10 direct reports
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate and inspire team members

Core Competencies:

  • Detailed knowledge of MS Office,Excel, and Outlook. ERP experience a plus
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Attention to detail and a commitment to data accuracy.
  • Proficiency in using inventory management software and Microsoft Excel.

Success Measures:

  • Ninety (90) days:

  • Successfully onboarded and trained shipping and receiving team members.

  • Implemented improvements to streamline shipping and receiving processes, resulting in increased efficiency and accuracy.

  • Developed strong working relationships with cross-functional teams, fostering collaboration and communication.

  • Implemented safety protocols and conducted training sessions to ensure compliance with company policies and regulations.

  • Six (6) Months:

  • Implemented performance metrics to track key performance indicators (KPIs) such as on-time delivery rates and shipping accuracy.

  • Identified opportunities for cost savings and efficiency gains within the shipping and receiving department, leading to measurable improvements in operational performance.

  • Acted as a mentor and coach to shipping and receiving team members, supporting their professional development and growth within the organization.

  • One (1) year:

  • Achieved measurable improvements in shipping and receiving efficiency, resulting in cost savings and enhanced customer satisfaction.

  • Developed and implemented a comprehensive training program for shipping and receiving associates, ensuring consistency and adherence to best practices.

  • Established INTEX Millwork Solutions as a leader in logistics management within the industry, recognized for our commitment to excellence and innovation.

  • Played a key role in strategic planning initiatives, providing valuable insights and recommendations to senior management for business growth and expansion.

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several geographic markets. The annual salary for this position ranges from $66,000 in our lowest market up to $74,000 in our highest market, plus bonus, equity, and benefits as applicable. The pay for roles at AZEK varies depending on a wide range of factors including but not limited to the specific work location, role, skill set, and level of experience.
