JOB SUMMARY:

The Director of Procurement plays a pivotal role in overseeing various aspects of procurement initiatives across the organization. The experienced and strategic Director of Procurement leads our procurement function and drives significant value and cost savings across our healthcare operations. This critical leadership role will be responsible for developing and executing procurement strategies, managing supplier relationships, optimizing costs, ensuring quality and compliance, and fostering a collaborative environment. The ideal candidate will possess a deep understanding of healthcare purchasing, including medical supplies, pharmaceuticals, equipment, and services, along with a proven track record of achieving measurable results in a complex healthcare setting.

Requirements

REQUIRED EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:

• Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, Healthcare Administration, or a related field.

• Minimum of 5 years of progressive experience in procurement, with a significant portion of that experience in a healthcare setting (hospital, health system, clinic, etc.).

• Proven track record of developing and implementing successful procurement strategies that have resulted in measurable cost savings and operational improvements in healthcare.

• Deep understanding of healthcare purchasing practices, regulations, and the specific needs of various clinical areas.

• Relevant professional certifications (e.g. CPM, CPSM) are a plus. Leadership and team management experience a plus.

• Strong negotiation, contract management, and supplier relationship management skills and experience

• Experience in vendor management, including negotiation and contracts.

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES:

• Proficiency in using procurement software and e-procurement tools.

• Exceptional communication, interpersonal, presentation, problem-solving and decision-making skills.

• Analytical mindset with the ability to interpret data and metrics to measure effectiveness.

• Demonstrated leadership and team management skills.

• Comprehensive knowledge and understanding of GPO operations and strategies is highly desirable.

• Detail-oriented with excellent organizational skills to manage multiple projects simultaneously.

• Ability and flexibility to thrive in a fast-paced environment and navigate changes in priorities.

OTHER REQUIREMENTS:

• Routine travel to centers and meetings is required.
