PURPOSE: The Warehouse Supervisor manages the overall warehousing activity on two shifts within the pladis Big Flats plant manufacturing facility, representing plant leadership, encompassing fiscal indirect labor accountability, uncompromising product quality, capital project execution, new product introductions, employee safety, food safety, and employee relations. Governs all physical inventory management activities, including monthly cycle counting, conducting annual physical inventories, directing inventory administrative functions, and managing all material flow activity from the receipt of raw materials to the shipping of finished goods. Directly supervises one hourly Logistics Lead, one hourly Logistics Coordinator, and ten hourly full-time Forklift Operators. Ensure effective communication across all shifts of warehouse operations, cross-functionally to production operations, temporary employment agency representatives, and all manufacturing support functions, including quality assurance, safety, maintenance, production planning, etc. Contribute to strategic planning relating to operations at the Big Flats plant. KEY DELIVERABLES: Perform annual performance evaluations for warehouse leaders in order to enhance warehousing operations and provide growth and enrichment for front-line supervision. Financial indirect labor accountability for all aspects of warehousing operations. Support new product launches Participation in the identification, selection, purchase, installation, and implementation of all capital projects as they relate to warehousing. Determine causes of waste (labor, product loss, etc.) then develop and execute plan to reduce such waste. Support the development and execution of logistics strategic plan. Reports problems regarding food safety to appropriate leadership. PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES 1. 20% - Execute warehousing operations to budgeted standards and ensure targeted customer service level (customer and DCs) 2. 20% - Inventory management/cycle counts/PIs (Raw materials, WIP, and Finished Goods) 3. 10% - Perform HR and personnel functions pertaining to the hourly workforce 4. 10% - Support execution of all new product development, as it relates to storage and handling 5. 10% - Manage to the flow of raw materials, WIP, and finished goods between various external storage facilities 6. 10% - Manage GMPs 7. 5% - Ensure compliance to safety standards 8. 5% - Ensure food safety program is followed 9. 5% - Direct various administrative functions, including employee scheduling, time and attendance, etc. 10. 3% - Lead/support capital projects 11. 2% - Incorporate lean manufacturing ideals to workstreams PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS Excellent people and supervisory skills Excellent communication skills (both written and oral). Ability to put into writing, information that has only one interpretation. Ability to both formally and informally present to peers and management. Ability to develop logical arguments and articulate them appropriately and professionally in all situations. Ability to construct appropriate solutions to achieve desired outcomes. Experience with executing various warehousing techniques. Ability to participate and lead cross-functional teams to achieve a desired outcome. Project management skills; the ability to coordinate activities, including identification, justification, selection, purchase, installation, and implementation of capital projects to achieved desired outcome. Understanding of numerous material management, handling and storage processes FEFO rotation, material and product lot control, refrigerated storage systems, and the management of internal company freight. Strong business acumen JOB COMPLEXITY Full accountability for material management on two shifts Ability to understand, comprehend, support, and execute the implementation of various warehousing techniques, including lean manufacturing, in order to optimize total supply chain cost reduction. Accountability for ensuring the highest product quality standards are routinely met while maintaining warehousing GMPs and regulatory compliance for warehousing operations. Assist in managing and maintaining a non-union work environment. Working closely with other departments, determine and seek approval for complex product standard, production planning, product quality, engineering, safety, and HR problems. Influence and direct others not within span of control to achieve desired outcome. Directly supervise others responsible for warehousing operations, including but not limited to fiscal accountability for indirect material handling labor, quality, project execution, safety, and personnel related issues. WORKING CONDITIONS: Plant manufacturing and office environment with less than 5% travel ADDTIONAL JOB DETAILS: Base starting salary at $52,000/yr.
