Crown Beverage Packaging, Fort Bend Plant # 060, 12910 Jess Pirtle Blvd, Sugar Land, Texas 77478.

Duties And Responsibilities:

The Shipping Clerk responsibilities would include, but not be limited to, the following:

  • Check daily customer shipments and follow up pending pick ups
  • Ensure all shipping documentation (i.e. waybills, bills of lading, shipping orders, or manifest) required to move the shipment is available for inspection and archived correctly
  • Provide direction/instruction of incoming loads
  • Visually inspect all trailers for compliance
  • Complete reports on rejected trailers and follow up to get recovery trailers
  • Complete Manual Bill of Ladings as needed
  • Verify all shipping documents are accurate
  • Handle all incoming shipping related inquiries
  • Manage dock scheduling system and coordinate with the team members
  • Perform cycle counts as needed and reconcile discrepancies
  • Perform month end Inventory count, reconcile discrepancies and report to the Warehouse Supervisor
  • Must be a team player and able to work in a high pace environment
  • Ability to utilize existing tools and assist with continuous improvement projects.
  • Comply with companys policies and safety regulations
  • Support Shipping Coordinator and Warehouse Supervisor
  • Perform other job-related duties as required or assigned

QUALIFICATIONS:

  1. 2 years of experience in Logistics preferred.
  2. Ability to safely operate all warehouse and production forklifts.
  3. Knowledge and understanding of can sizes, lacquer finishes, pack sizes and quality specifications.
  4. Able to read and understand pallet tickets, date codes, and customer order sheets.
  5. Know how to complete the required paperwork and recordkeeping from beginning to end of a shipment.
  6. Understand individual customer product specifications, quality packaging requirements and H.F.I. procedures.
  7. Excellent communication skills both written and verbal and will be able to present information in a clear and concise manner.
  8. Good reasoning skills and be able to analyse data and prepare reports reflecting findings and advise on strategic direction in relation to your role.
  9. Excellent interpersonal skills are essential.
  10. Computer literacy skills - AS400 program, Microsoft Word, Excel.
  11. Good organizational and administrative skills
  12. Excellent time management skills
  13. Ability to multitask
  14. Knowledge of safety regulations which apply to forklift operation and material handling.

  • Language Skills: Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of team members or to customers.
  • Reasoning Ability: Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
  • Ability to work effectively both as an individual and in a team environment using collaborative methods.
  • Must be committed to ongoing personal training and development
