SUMMARY: The Production Scheduler is responsible for developing the production plans to satisfy customer demand while optimizing production resource productivity and utilization. The qualified individual will be responsible for providing the ICC plant with a production plan/ schedule consistent with the plant capacity and customer orders and forecasts. This is accomplished by performing the following duties while meeting the Company Core Values.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Utilize ICC's Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) APS System to develop and maintain production plans and schedules for the ICC production operations. Maintain key planning parameters in the Item Master, Warehouse Master, Bill of Material, Work Centers, Resources, Routings and Operations
• Review, adjust, and firm up plan order APS/MRP action notice messages/ recommendations to meet customer (external and internal) and optimizing production operation productivity. Determine and validate available capacity and material availability before planned orders are firmed up
• Insure priority alignment with plant schedule coordinators in order to execute Production Schedule on a daily and weekly basis
• Establish and review load profiles to graphically compare each work station's available capacity to the load established by the planned and released orders for each time period of the plan. Resolve differences between work station loads and available capacity. Establish, measure, monitor, and adjust capacity levels to execute all manufacturing schedules
• Use backward scheduling/ forward scheduling to simulate the loading of work centers based on the priority plan for an end item and its components as determined during APS/MRP
• Make delivery commitments on MTO products, which involve checking uncommitted material and availability of capacity
• Develop inventory targets and manage production to achieve targeted inventory levels
• Maintain finished goods inventory at target levels in ensure high service levels, i.e. product availability
• Identify and implement system and process improvements within the supply chain to enable overall business process improvements
• Follow Company personnel and product safety requirements including standards such as those from SQF and internal GMPs
• Must be willing and capable of working the hours necessary to meet the needs of the Position

• Ability to collaborate with the Business Managers, Operations, Sales, Customer Service and Management is critical to meeting business goals
• Possess detailed knowledge of manufacturing planning, master production scheduling, product definition, inventory control, materials requirements planning, capacity requirements planning shop floor control, warehousing, transportation, and purchasing business functions
• Ability to develop an understanding and practical knowledge of a company's complex manufacturing processes and equipment capabilities
• Understanding of the effects of the inputs and outputs of Advanced Planning and Scheduling (APS) Materials Requirement Planning (MRP), capacity planning, and advanced planning system technologies
• Practical understanding of both the rough-cut and finite capacity planning techniques - have knowledge of how to manage load leveling and bottleneck scheduling
• Understanding of the discipline of planning, organizing, and managing resources to bring about the successful completion of specific project goals and objectives
• Understanding of how to implement and determine the appropriate scheduling technique to control capacity at work centers:• Finite scheduling• Infinite scheduling• Forward scheduling• Backward scheduling
• Working knowledge of capacity management's relationship to MRP - ability to document work center inputs and output loading - utilize problem solving techniques to resolve differences between work station loads and available capacity
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE: A minimum of an Associate's Degree; or ten years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
LANGUAGE SKILLS: The Production Scheduler must have excellent communication, follow-up and attention-to-detail skills. Absolutely paramount that he/she use these skills in all dealings with Management, Sales and Plant personnel. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence in English. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of the organization.
MATHEMATICAL AND TECHNICAL SKILLS: Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals, rate and percentage.
Must also be competent and possess a full working knowledge of Windows based computer systems and Microsoft Office applications including Word and Excel.
REASONING ABILITY: Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety, of technical information in to effectively manage plant-wide production needs.
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS: Valid state level driver's license, which meets Company requirements of the Fleet Management Policy and insurance requirements.
