Position Summary:

We are seeking a skilled and dependable Forklift Technician to join our team. This role is responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining various types of material handling equipment, primarily forklifts (electric, gas, diesel, and LP). The ideal candidate will have strong mechanical and electrical aptitude, excellent problem-solving skills, and a commitment to safety and customer service.

Key Responsibilities:

• Inspect, diagnose, and repair forklifts and other material handling equipment

• Perform scheduled preventative maintenance and safety inspections

• Troubleshoot and repair mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems

• Keep accurate records of all work performed, parts used, and time spent on each job

• Work independently at customer locations or in-shop as needed

• Communicate with customers and office staff regarding repair status and recommendations

• Ensure tools and work areas are kept clean, organized, and in good working condition

• Follow all safety protocols and OSHA regulations

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or GED required; technical or vocational training a plus

• Minimum 3 years of experience as a forklift or heavy equipment mechanic

• Strong mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic troubleshooting skills

• Ability to read schematics and technical manuals

• Valid driver’s license and clean driving record

• Ability to lift up to 75 lbs and work in varying conditions (hot/cold, indoors/outdoors)

• Good communication and organizational skills

• Basic computer skills for diagnostics and work order management

Preferred Qualifications:

• Certification from a forklift manufacturer (Toyota, Hyster, Crown, etc.)

• Welding or fabrication experience

• Bilingual (English/Spanish) is a plus
