Dendreon Job Postings Vice President, Supply Chain Job Type: Regular Full-Time Location: Seattle, WA Job Description: The Vice President for Supply Chain is responsible for ensuring that an appropriate and scalable raw material vendor network exists (including contract manufacturers for proprietary raw materials) to meet all commercial and clinical production objectives. Additionally, this position is responsible for Seattle clinical production of AIT products. This position will be accountable for the development and execution of the appropriate hiring, training, and systems plans required to: ensure raw materials are in stock for production, optimizing the quality and cost components of the raw material supply chain, and ensuring that the pilot facility is successfully meeting the clinical production objectives. The successful candidate will have the leadership skills required to develop the appropriate supply chain organization and negotiate with vendors of all raw materials (including contract manufacturers). They will be responsible for ensuring that the corporate policies, procedures, and regulatory commitments for supply chain management, procurement, and clinical manufacturing are complied with and integrated into the daily operations. General Summary: Provides strategic and operational direction for raw material planning and management, strategic sourcing, procurement, and contract manufacturing for commercial and clinical production. Provides strategic and operational direction for the pilot facility in Seattle responsible for clinical manufacturing of AIT products. Leads and manages the outsourcing efforts for clinical production (AIT, small molecules, and recombinant proteins) outside the Seattle Pilot Facility. Ensures that production schedules for the commercial sipuleucel-T coming from Corporate Operations are integrated into scalable and appropriate raw material planning models. Ensures that raw materials are in stock and available for production to support all commercial and clinical production forecasts. Ensures that the appropriate systems (processes, procedures, and electronic systems) exist for the departments to meet the corporate objectives. Develops the master production schedule for raw materials and work with Strategic Sourcing to ensure that vendor capacity, quality, schedule, and cost are optimized for the commercial and clinical forecasts. Drives raw material risk analysis models and works cross functionally to resolve identified risks. Strategizes with other departmental Vice Presidents to ensure proper cross functional direction is given to cross functional operations and project teams. Participate on the Operations Leadership Team with the General Managers of each commercial production site, the VP of Facilities and Engineering, and the VP of Corporate Operations. Support the strategic objectives and support the team members with the appropriate and aligned tactics to achieve the objectives. Represent the department during high-level discussions and investigations with external customers, vendors and FDA representatives. Mentors and develops department staff, including supervisory staff. Establishes department operation schedule, plans, processes and budgets. Establishes departmental strategies. Job Requirements: Bachelor's Degree in Life Sciences or related field or equivalent. Advanced degree a plus. Typically a minimum of 15 years experience with increasing managerial responsibility in supply chain management, including 10 or more years of managerial experience and at least 3 of these years in cross-functional team leadership. Skills should also include a solid understanding of biotechnology, pharmaceutical, medical device, and/or medical service industries. Must possess the ability to direct the activities of departments through subordinate managers. Demonstrated skills and competencies in inspirational leadership, teambuilding, analytical problem solving, change management, strategic planning, and goal setting. Strong communication (both written and oral), facilitation, and presentation skills. Work experience in a cGMP environment.
