Assist the Brigade Staff with crisis action and deliberate deployment and redeployment contingency operation requirements in support of the 101st Airborne Division (AASLT). Works under minimal supervision and performs additional duties as assigned. Specific Duties: * Provide highly technical support to Brigades during deployment/redeployment operations, contingency operations, training exercises and movements as required. * Assist Teams, Platoons, Companies, Battalions, Brigade and Division in maintaining and reporting accurate unit movement data. * Provide technical expertise to Unit Movement Officers and Hazmat Certifiers. * Reviews vehicle/container load plans, sensitive items lists and HAZMAT paperwork. * Train unit personnel in deployment requirements and procedures, including but not limited to rail loads, air loads, pallet building and container stuffing. * Ensure unit personnel, equipment, supplies and baggage are maintained in a deployable condition. * Provide technical expertise and work leadership to less-experienced personnel. * Conducts courtesy Command Inspections as directed. * Assist with planning, execution and evaluation during deployment exercises & provide expertise to subordinate units. * Inspect and recertify unit owned containers. * Maintain current knowledge of relevant technologies, subject areas and future requirements and updates BDE Staff. * Use TC-AIMS II and JFRG II to develop and source TPFDDs. * Assist units in marshalling, call forward, joint inspection and loading operations for all movements. * Track in transit cargo using GTN, SMS or other similar system. * Provide briefings, reports, advice and assistance to Brigade as necessary. Physical Demands: Certain operations may require the individual to lift and move computer and other equipment of approximately 50 lbs in weight, as well as being able to push a wheeled dolly with multiple computer systems loaded. The individual must be able to perform duties in extreme weather (dusty, arid, high and low temperature). Travel may also be required to support contingency military operations in remote/austere physical environments. Position may require bending, kneeling, or crawling to get to cables under and behind furniture. Additionally, the position will call for the employee to climb onto military equipment and or vehicles to engage in data validation. The individual is required to be in good health and be able to pass medical examinations as dictated by the U.S. Army. Work Environment: Work environment is typically indoors in an office environment. However, some outdoor work may be required in austere conditions (dusty, extreme heat or cold). Certain operations may require 24 hour support. Accordingly, individuals may be assigned to work during non-routine shifts, and long hours and other duties as required.
