POSITION SUMMARY:While working in a fast-paced logistics environment, responsible for providing leadership and direction for the daily operations and customer service for the import logistics department.  The Import Supervisor will also be responsible for updating,managing and administrating for our web-based Global Trade Management (GTM) System.DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:Oversee the inbound movement of Import product into the distribution center network.Understand and know how to facilitate all of the responsibilities in the Import Logistics area which include:  booking approvals, container management, air and ocean supply chains, consolidation, GTM software, understanding of both vendor and Customs document requirements.Oversee the GTM system including:  problem resolution, set up and changes of vendors and users within the system, set up of EDI, and training.Responsible for departmental KPI reporting and measuring, logistics partner scorecards and follow up with the logistics partners.Collaborating in the assessment of current Global supply chain practices and in the development and implementation of new end-to-end supply chain strategies and plans, which will include assisting in the yearly air and ocean bids.Partners with Human Resources and Manager on all disciplinary issues.Building and maintaining strong relationships with internal departments (i.e. operations, inventory, merchandising, planning, customer service).Provide guidance, training, and resolutions for employees when problems arise within the department.Responsible for acting as a liaison between our logistics partners and 3rd party freight payment provider, which includes, following up on freight bill audits and discrepancies.Responsible for managing the budget (overtime, supplies, etc.)Manage the employee hours worked and complete yearly reviews for hourly associates.Participate in strategic thinking groups.Support Domestic Logistics as needed. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:Bachelors in Business, Supply Chain Management, or equivalent.3-5 years of experience in the logistics industry.  Previous supervisory experience requiredInternational Forwarding and Customs knowledge requiredStrong people skills requiredAbility to engage in the supply-chain and logistics industryMicrosoft Excel, Powerpoint, and Word knowledge preferred;  ability to use internet based programsStrong interpersonal skills to include teambuilding and conflict resolutionAbility to identify problems and develop solutions quicklyFlexible and have the ability to multi-task using good organizational and time management skillsTeam player with the ability to put the goals of the organization over their individual team goals
