Improve responsiveness to customers and reduce operating expenses and working capital. h Develop inventory management strategies and programs to ensure maximum inventory turns, best price, high quality and consistent support to manufacturing. h Work with manufacturing to rationalize outsourcing and in-sourcing activities. h Identify key supplier and partner with these suppliers to develop long term mutually beneficial relationships that ensure long term success for both parties. h Support group global sourcing strategies for a range of commodities and ensure these are migrated into the existing business unit supply chain with minimum interruption and maximum cost reduction h Drive and ensure suppliers are held accountable for meeting continuous improvement initiatives both from a strategic and tactical perspective including lead time reduction, flexibility to schedules, quality improvement, inventory reduction (entire supply chain) and cost reduction on year over year basis h Management of the business unit logistics function including developing and maintaining inventory controls h Reviews and ensures that the appropriate financial metrics are monitored and proper fiscal controls are in place to maximize cost savings throughout the function. h Work with key members of the supply chain, new product development, engineering, manufacturing and other key functional areas of the business. Develop, establish and implement the SIOP processes/metrics, guidelines and policies h Build multi-functional teams to support better Supply-Demand planning integrating with sites, purchasing, sales & marketing, customer service and finance to ensure customer satisfaction. h Develop and automate key metrics and ensure continuous improvement to metrics over time P . DUTIES:1. Develop in conjunction with Materials Management and Operations goals and objectives for the areas of responsibility consistent with corporate plans. Implement plans and report on progress at regular intervals.2. Develop in conjunction with Operations the department operating budgets consistent with goals and objectives and corporate plans.3. Maintain, in conjunction with the Inventory Control Manager, necessary controls over commitments and receipts to meet established goals as to the material content of inventory.4. Control utilization of manpower and expenses so as to keep costs within approved operating budgets for the departments.5. Investigate, approve and recommend requests for annual capital expenditure budget for the purchasing departments.6. Develop and establish improved controls and reporting systems to provide accurate information as to accomplishments, progress, performance, capabilities in controlling expenditures, savings, etc.7. Maintain the professional atmosphere and capability of the department. Enforce the very highest ethical standards.8. Attend management conferences and training programs. Keep abreast of trends and improvements in the field of purchasing through appropriate publications and outside affiliations.9. Perform related duties as assigned or as responsibilities necessitate.Requirements EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, AND COMPETENCIESEducation: P Bachelors Degree in related discipline required; MBA preferred. CPM or CPIM Certification a plus.Experience: h 8-10 years of supply chain and operations experience, proven leadership abilities and in depth knowledge of supply chain management. h Experience buying castings, mechanical components and assemblies; supervisory experience. Strong domestic and international purchasing background; proficient in foundry process will be a competitive advantage. h Some experience in finance, sales, program management or marketing a plus. h Six Sigma /Lean Certifications a plus P Advanced knowledge of JDE/MRP, Access, Word, Excel, Power Point, Visio, Project, and other applicable tools.OTHERP US Persons Only (US citizensP Physical and Environmental Requirements: While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear.
