The primary purpose of this position is serve as a logistics management project officer for communications and information systems logistic policy, procedures, guidances, and concepts. Provides overall and specific logistics policy, procedures, guidance, continuity, and direction that directly impacts support of AF communications and information systems. Develops AF policy, guidances, procedures, strategies, processes, and concepts concerning sustainability of communications and information systems. Serves as a project officer in the areas of application of Logistics Systems. Evaluates and reports on new and existing logistics support concepts, proposals, designs, development, products, trends, standards, process improvements, and ideas for applicability to the Air Force. Develops, maintain, and reviews designs, procedural, requirements, planning, and policy documents concerning supportability and supportability issues. Determines consistency with DoD, Joint, AF, MAJCOMs, FOAs, and non-DoD strategies, concepts, and process improvements guidelines. Develops, and analyses logistics systems database requirements, systems reports, audits, and after-action/lessons-learned reports to assess logistics support to communications and information systems. Participates in policy workgroups, system design/functional requirement workgroups, integrated product teams, and user groups. Maintains positive teamwork and customer/supplier relationships. ADDITIONAL INFORMATION: POSITION IS LOCATION IS AFNIC. A newly appointed or reappointed employee may or may not receive service credit for prior work experience or active duty uniformed service that otherwise would not be creditable for the purpose of determining his or her annual leave acrual rate.  All creditable service must be directly related to the duties of the position being filled and decisions to allow for such credit must be finalized prior to the selectee's entrance on duty.
