Job Title: Logistics Dispatcher Company: Staffmark Location: Bolingbrook, IL Description: Staffmark is looking for a Logistics Dispatcher.    Job Function/ Objective:    Responsible for third party logistics, dispatching and assigning transportation vendors based on client demands and service requirements. Cold calling carriers and negotiating rates Proficient use of transportation software such as FMS Meet all internal and external customer requirements through efficient, profitable, and timely movement of freight. Strong written and verbal communication skills Demonstrate professional behavior at all times Understand and execute customer requirements Intimate knowledge of logistics including carrier alternatives, pricing and potential problems. Successful team experience and ability to apply good team work skills Collaborate with team leaders to develop the most cost effective transportation model and execute to that model. Ability to read a map and communicate directions effectively. Follow SOP’s and work instructions. Perform other duties as assigned. Some college is a plus. Experience:        Experienced transportation specialists desired.  Must have solid 2 or more years experience in load transportation.  No exceptions.  Experience dispatching freight and knowledge of the transportation industry.  Skills:                            Computer skills required including proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel.   Strong ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing.  Demonstrated, solid understanding of Logistics and Transportation Practical Skills Required:   Ability to Multi-Task Ability to read/write/interpret job specifications in English Physical Requirements: Ability to sit in an office environment 8 hours per day; Ability to perform repetitive manual tasks, including keyboarding; Ability to communicate via telephone; Ability to turn and move as necessary to perform functions of the position   Chat :   XLive Chat with Employer!Do you need additional information about this job or company?
