Position Overview: The International Sourcing Buyer will work closely with the category buyers to provide innovative and proprietary products for our E-Commerce websites and catalogs.  The right individual will be experienced in the development of products and sourcing of manufacturing primarily in Mexico, China, Taiwan, and other Far Eastern countries.    Essential Job Functions: Develop and execute international sourcing strategies with category buyers to support department’s strategic initiatives. Assessment of product concept and design, domestic and international market research, supplier review, cost analysis, and sourcing execution to include minimums and lead times. The individual will work closely with category buyers and will be the point of contact for direct sourcing opportunities. Develop strategies to optimize international supplier base.  This includes consolidation, expansion or shifts of supplier base as required.  Develop and implement assortment plans to achieve target sales and profit objectives for assigned categories. Product – Summarize current key product SKU’s (best and worst) and why.  Develop level of product knowledge required to make informed decisions regarding pricing, vendor, terms, and product assortment selection.     Review any previous marketing done for assigned product category and suggested future marketing strategies. Trend – Maintain pulse on the product category through vendor communications, customer service feedback, emerging trends, and competitive online/brick and mortar shopping. Manage assigned categories and skus to corporate in-stock goals of 98% and 100% on “Never Out” and new catalog products. Working with Replenishment – Review and analyze numerical data and sales trends to determine proper inventory.  Evaluate existing sales trends and provide projections for future needs. Provide sku substitution recommendations. Merchandise and Content Management – Merchandise product on our E-Commerce website’s and or catalogs.  Provide recommendations on product copy to marketing counter parts.
