Description:
The Assistant Buyer is responsible for working with the Buyer to create an exciting and timely product assortment that meets or exceeds the sales volume and profits for their departments. They are to execute the vision of the President, GMM, DMM and Buyer while servicing the Anthropologie customer. They intuitively respond to customer feedback, market trends and develop action plans that drive category specific growth and increased profitability. The Assistant Buyer is expected to use their fashion intuition to assist the Buyer in directing the assortment of their category, focusing on the appropriate number of drivers that deliver in excess of 60% of their business. They are expected to understand the store profile by product category and make recommendations to the Buyer to tailor their assortments to optimize regional and demographic differences. Responsibilities: Works with the Buyer to learn to determine the overall mix or market and private label product for each buying area to ensure that the final mix is ultimately customer oriented. Acts as the liaison between the vendor and the Buyer. Responsible for entering purchase orders and following up with the vendor to ensure on time delivery. Responsible for generating markdowns, proofreading them and putting them in the appropriate store mail boxes in a timely manner. In the event an order is not shipped by the cancel date, the Assistant Buyer is responsible for contacting the vendor to arrange for credits. Make recommendations to the Buyer for marketing and promotional opportunities for their categories of merchandise and suggests development of the marketing, packaging and promotional plans. Assist in the allocations when necessary. Follow up on merchandise that has been shipped to the stores and is defective or of poor quality and making the necessary arrangements with the Buyer's approval for an RTV.
