Job Title: Commodity Buyer - Southfield, MI Company: Kelly Engineering Resources Location: Southfield, MI Description: Commodity Buyer - Southfield, MI We have an opportunity for a Commodity Buyer with a client in Southfield, Michigan.  This is a contract assignment projected to be long term. Must have a four year degree in materials management, purchasing, business, or logistics. We are looking for candidates with one to three years of experience in the purchasing or materials management area. GENERAL STATEMENT OF RESPONSIBILITIES: The Commodity Buyer will directly support the Commodity and Supplier Development teams. JOB REQUIREMENTS: Responsible for 100% fill rate for suppliers.Support Purchasing and Supplier Quality to ensure vendor compliance to shipping parameters.Provide assistance to Commodity or Purchasing Managers for the development of commodity strategies, sourcing activities, and project implementation.Research materials and suppliers to develop an expertise related to the commodity supported.Prepare required documentation for supplier meetings or negotiations.Prepare presentations to management as required.Attend meetings as required to support or represent Commodity or Purchasing Managers. EDUCATION:Bachelors Degree in Business / Materials Management or Logistics required. EXPERIENCE:Minimum of 1-3 years of experience in Purchasing/Procurement and / or a Materials Management related field with a preference towards high volume manufacturing related industries.Demonstrated background and proven experience with supply chain management.  SAP experience preferred.Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.Must be detail oriented.  Kelly Services is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
