A.) from four-year college or university; with a concentration in business or math a plus; and three to five years purchasing experience. Summary of Primary Duties and Responsibilities:  SUMMARY The Purchasing Buyer will be responsible for inventory management and purchasing of goods that go into the production of finished goods for their designated manufacturing facility. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES The plant buyer will be responsible for replenishment of raw materials by facility. The buyer will be responsible for maintaining accurate material pricing and freight costs. The buyer will manage all invoice reconciliation involving price and or receiving discrepancies pertaining to his/her facility. He or she will always be looking to save money by reviewing vendor price brackets and freight differentials. The buyer will work with the Director to come up with cost savings programs such as alternative vendors and local ingredient processors located close to their facility. The buyer will review the exception report with scheduling and attend all appropriate plant meetings. The buyer will work with quality in the event of a material issue and be the liaison between Ken’s Foods and the vendor to support audit needs for SQF and other customer inspections. The buyer is the “go to” person during a crisis involving any materials used in production in their plant. They are the key contact between all plant personnel and will be available 24 /7 to handle any issue that would put the plant in jeopardy involving materials. Buying responsibilities will also include, aiding R&D in new material procurement and transferring materials from plant to plant as formulas are shifted. The buyer will also coordinate all backhaul prospects with the Logistics Department. The Buyer works with the sales department to coordinate the roll out of new formulas and product lines. The Buyer is the main contact with sales managing all LTO’s and customer promotions that can affect material usage volumes. The Buyer will maintain raw material Kosher database and submit all new raw ingredients to the OU for approval.  At inventory, the buyer will review and key in material counts.This is a hands on position requiring attention to detail and the ability to multitask.  Effective communication is key to the success of of any candidate taking on this position.

Sr. Buyer     Job Summary: The Sr. Buyer is responsible for placing orders to meet sales, forecasting sales, and making inventory projections. The successful candidate will be responsible for vendor sourcing and negotiations with new and existing vendors, who must meet quality, target costs, trend goals, in store dates, and be able to adhere to the YCC Vendor Compliance Requirements. This person is the eyes and ears of our customer.  They must have a keen knowledge of the customers' needs and desires as it relates to our business and where the customer is heading in the future, with the YCC Retail Store as their customer. This individual must be a leader in product ideas including the overall seasonal assortment. The ideal candidate will be a motivated, detail oriented worker who will lead exclusive and custom product development, assist others, and be a role model for other Buyers.  Specifically:   Utilize existing and new business intelligence tools to plan and grow business.  Communicate with brand, operations, planning, allocation, stores, marketing and visual teams. Be prepared to provide overall theme direction, and merchandise assortment details to team and field via Merchandise Assortment Database.  Create Purchase Order worksheets for new products based on reorders, sales trends and inventory.  Project orders up to 12 months in advance and trends 24 months in advance. Review prepared sales and inventory reports.  Provide detailed analysis of business to lead future plans and initiatives.  Present regular business reviews, and provide relevant ad-hoc analysis. Complete understanding of the retail world / competition, and category and product trends.   Scope: Responsible for the purchasing of saleable goods within company policy and department guidelines, including quality, quantity, time, and price.  Responsible for inventory, sales, margin, and discount of assigned product categories.    Minimum Requirements: Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience. 5 - 7 years Senior Buying or closely related experience including product development, sourcing, and planning experience. (branded product preferred) Proven detail orientation and solid communication (written & oral) and interpersonal skills. Must be a team builder with a bias for action who has proven experience building and leading a cross functional team to achieve the goals for a specific category.  Excellent computer skills and the ability to learn new tools quickly.  Should be proficient in Microsoft Excel and business intelligence software.  Previous Retail system(s) experience necessary.  High level of flexibility, with the ability to multi-task and manage multiple priorities within a fast-paced environment.
