Description:
At the direction of the President of the Company, the Employee will perform and discharge diligently, faithfully, loyally and in good faith the duties described herein that are customary or appropriate for the position of COO and such other duties as may be assigned to him from time to time by the President of the Company.
Such duties include, but are not limited to:
Manage the operations of the company including all staff and contract labor (over 100) - The Dispatch Department, The Customer Service Department, Drivers (both IC and Employee), Human Resource Department, The Company Facilities and Equipment as well as P&L accountability and budgetary concerns. Monitoring the performance of and assisting sales staff in generating, maintaining and growing the Companys customer base and in developing potential customer sales, with special emphasis on creating a positive team environment throughout the organization. Create, administer and maintain systems that will facilitate the Companys growth and create new revenue streams. Create and develop new lines of business (3PL, freight brokerage, transportation and distribution).
All systems, procedures, tasks, documentation and records will be documented in detail in as specified by the president of the company. In cooperation, and with the approval of the president of the company, the COO will develop systems and procedures to improve the company performance, efficiency, accountability of staff and profitability of the company.
Supervise staff in accordance with company policies and procedures (including enforcement of such). Responsible for hiring, training, evaluating, delegating responsibilities, coaching and terminating employees to ensure the appropriate number of qualified, capable, motivated staff and equipment are in place.
The position of COO is a salaried position requiring a minimum of 40 hours per week and may regularly require 50, 60 or more hours per week. The COO is expected to carry out and complete his or her daily workload during regular business hours as necessary to interact with other business entities. The COO will carry out other functions outside of normal business hours (evenings and weekends) as required to facilitate their timely, efficient completion - ex.: recruitment calls, interviews, hiring and terminating, creating, editing and entering policies and procedures into the company business system (primary functions);
Promptly communicating all pertinent or important business information to the President of the Company to ensure that at all times he remain well informed with respect to all the work of the Employee and the business of the Company;
